Ferris Wheel: Carolina Spin

The Carolina Spin is a rendition of a asset from a Stephen King book called 'Joyland'. The design of this piece was to make it look almost brand new. The book being set in the 1970's gave me a certain style to work with. I used a colour scheme of red, yellow and green. The 'Joyland' logo was created from scratch from my own personal rendition.

Joyland Logo Design

This logo was designed for my Game Design models to work as a type of branding to give the models more depth. The Ferris Wheel (Carolina Spin) and the Rollercoaster (Delirium Shaker) were based from the Stephen King book 'Joyland'.

The book tells a murder mystery story about a boy who goes to work at a North Carolina Amusment Park called 'Joyland'. Its set in the 70's where the american past times where to go to these places during the summer.

For the models I created I decided to create a logo for the theme park as its only described in the book. Howie the Happy Hound is the name of the mascot and 'Where We Sell Fun' was the slogan. I took these two details and applied them both to a suitable logo.

I used the three main colours from the books cover for the colour palette and made variations to the colour of the dogs face. This was the final outcome which was then placed on the ferris wheel and rollercoaster models. All done in Photoshop.
